Has anyone tried clairol natural instincts?

my natural hair color is black with 5 greys in front, I could pluck them but id rather color a bit, I read a semi permanent is best just for a few, also I hear it can make your hair even shinier.

and what color would you suggest, dark brown or black?

I don't want it to look painted! my hair is a true black but I want it to look natural. my skin is light olive. dark brown or black?

I've used Natural Instincts and for a semi-permanant hair color I think it's the best out there. Right now I have too much grey in my hair so have had to move on to getting it done professionally. Anyway, I don't like the look of dyed hair when it's done black, it always looks really fake, even though your hair is naturally black. I would go with a dark brown, it will probably turn a sort of black as your hair is naturally black and that will show through. I think the dark brown will give you sort of some high lights that could look wonderful and will cover the little bit of grey that you have. The more I think about it, the more I think that it really could look beautiful. And as it is, it's semi permanant and isn't going to last that long anyway. So, give it a try, try something different for a change, see how you like a new you.

Either one would look great with olive skin. I always use clairol natural instincts, to dye my naturally dark brown hair black, and it definitely doesn't look painted on. Most people think it's natural-but I suppose that if they didn't, it wouldn't be a very good hair color!

I like natural instincts because it doesn't have the bleach that permanent hair color does, but it is very long-lasting. I recommend it highly! Best of luck and happy coloring.

I have naturaly jet black hair also...and trust me the black hair dye wont make your hair look painted at all. it blends in well with your hair and it still makes your hair look very natural.

unless you want to have a slight tint of brown, i suggest going with the black.

i was always told to seek a pro when dealing with black hair. any thing other then true black will change your hair from its natural. i used that brand once and it didn't cover real well but i have alot more grey than that (bummer). 5 i would pull. but thats me. just go ask a hair dresser or even the girls at the beauty supply store. they are usually knowledgable. good luck. maybe try highlites.
