Dose Tea Tree oil kill the lice eggs too ?

How best can I comb myself ? I am on my own here.

My hair is brown baby fine, and "clean" hair. Also, my scalp get's dry, perfect for lice..

Dose Viniger work same as, Tea Tree oils ?

I know it dries the scalp.

Which hair treatment is best, not as greesy, but works great for keeping these nasty things dead and gone ?? I also use a hair dryer. Do I use the oil, or lotions before, or after the dryer step.

Can hair color kill head lice, and prevent lice from latching on, dose it kill the eggs? I'm 45 so I have some grey anyway.

1. Olive oil left on the hair and scalp for 8-9 hours can smother lice.

2. To help soften the glue that the nits/eggs use to attach themselves to the hair, follow the shampoo with a rinse of 1/2 warm water and 1/2 vinegar. Cover the scalp with a shower cap for 15-20 min. Comb the hair thoroughly with a special fine-toothed nit comb (available at pharmacies), and rinse thoroughly. The entire treatment can be repeated in a week if necessary.

3. Mix 1 teaspoon lime juice and1 teaspoon garlic, make into a paste and apply to hair.

4. A paste of bitter almonds applied on the head is a very good home remedy for the head lice.

In these ways you can cure head lice in your home.

If worse comes to worse you can always do what my grandmother did to me as a kid. Use gasoline, it was horrible, it didn't burn or anything, just smelled but it got rid of the problem. P.S. I do not recommend this at all! Only if nothing else works and you don't light any fires.

My daughter had lice and I used the Rid on her hair I found a live one and took it off and placed it on a paper towel and put a couple drops of rid right on the louse about 10 minutes later I looked over and the darn thing was moving again! Report It

the best remedy to kill head lice is actually HAIR DYE!

believe it or not, my daughter went through a year of head lice, from a girl in her class, that would constantly get them, I have tried everything on the market to natural remedies like mayo and vinegar, to tea tree oil, some would still live through it , just like a cockroach, the hardest to kill, *LOL*,. Dye your hair, and when you comb through you will notice , they are all dead and the nits come off super easily as well....it would be best if you had someone else help you, a freind , relative, even a close co-worker you talk to, try phoning your local public health office, and ask them if there is someone to help you comb them out, especially if you are all alone with no one to turn to . They could suggest someone.

No one that I know that is African American has ever gotten lice. The only thing I can come up with is that oil is always keep in the hair not washed out like a lot of other cultures do.

We had a head-lice problem a little while ago, and it was miserable. I know definitely that hair BLEACH will kill them, I don't know about the dye, though. What I did was this:

Went to Wal-Mart, go the generic Equate brand lice killing kit. Washed heads with shampoo as directed. This kills a lot of them. I went a step further on myself because I was so disgusted: lice don't like scalding water. I filled the bathtub up about six inches with cold water, then dumped a bucket of scalding water on my head. That got a bunch. Then I went through my hair with the nit comb for two hours every night for several weeks until I was sure they were gone. IM or e-mail me if you need any other suggestions, because I used totally different remedies for my daughter who I'm not going to pour hot water on. *lol*

go to a drug store and get a bottle or rid lice shampoo its not that expensive and the stuff really works

i had head lice when i was younger when i permed my hair once they all died and i never had them again, you could by perm stuff just dont do the curl things and it will kill them and u wont end up with curly hair
