Why am I jealous of his ex?

My fiance of nearly 4 years, used to go out with a thin %26amp; pretty 16/17 yr old when he was 20/21. He is now 30. That was his only serious girlfriend before me.

He went out with her for 1-2yrs(ish).

However, I still cannot kurb my jealously towards the situation.

I am a bit overweight and have very low self esteem anyway, so a while back when I saw he picture, I thought "God, what does he see in me?"

Anyway, I love (or used to) sing on the karaoke, I thought I was good and people I know tell me I'm good, so I felt really confident.

However, it came out one day in a conversation that his ex sang Pie Jesu song at his sisters wedding in the church, and she was a good singer. Heres me thinking, god I only do naff karaoke!!

Anyway, I know it sounds lame, but there is lot of different things that niggle at me, especially how thin she was and had lovely blonde flowing hair. I have dry hair withbits of grey - how depressing...

You dont need to have very low self-esteem once you are with him don't be depressed just be positive, he likes the way you are. Just take care of yourself to cheer upand make feel better.

there is obviously a reason why they are not together anymore. It didn't work out between them...and besides that was a LONG time ago!

Now there is also obviously a reason why you two are engaged to be MARRIED...he LOVES you! You have nothing to worry about, if he weren't totally in love with you for who you are then you two wouldn't be engaged, right? Sure, a little jealousy seems natural, but don't get too fussy about it. That was a long, long time ago and the man is yours now! Don't be hard on yourself girly!

He's with you right? Not her? And hasn't been in 10 years?? Come on now. Be an adult and let it go. Go get your hair colored and treated and you'll feel better. And have you seen the girl lately? We were all skinny at 16!!! She might be a hundred pounds heavier now. Even if she isn't, how can u be jealous when YOU'RE the one who has him? Let it go.

well, gee..the way you described yourself shows you have have a very low self esteem. you gotta pick yourself up. go work out so you too can have that smoking body. your man obviously loves you or he wouldn't be with you. however, just because he's with you doesn't mean you should let yourself go. so what if the other girl could sing better? so what if she looked good when she was 17? who knows...maybe she's let herself go too. just worry about yourself and how to improve yourself. take a yoga class or an aerobics class if you have to.
